our history
1624
Viticulture in traditional top locations
The Grans-Fassian winery has been owned by our family for almost 400 years. The production of the highest quality wines has always had the highest priority. The prerequisite for this is the possession of the best locations and intensive vineyard care.
1982
Focus on top dry wines
Gerhard Grans took over the winery from his father Matthias with a vineyard area of 4 hectares at that time, which he slowly and steadily expanded with the best sites. Since then he has focused on top quality dry wines, which currently make up 80% of our range.
2001
Member of the VDP
We are a member of the Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates (VDP). The trademark of the VDP consistently signals exceptional qualities. We are proud to have been a member since 2001.
2017
The New Generation
Gerhard Grans' daughter Catherina is the 13th generation of the family to manage the winery. She completed her studies in Geisenheim with a Bachelor of Science in Viticulture and Oenology, which was then complemented by the European Master of Science in Viticulture & Enology and various internships.
